CAI reminds members that the OSHA 300A must be posted in a conspicuous place at their worksite from 2/1/14 through 4/30/14. The OSHA 300A is the summary of injuries and illnesses taken from the OSHA Log 300 that is maintained during the year.
Employers with 10 or fewer employees and certain employers in low hazard industries, although covered by OSHA regulations, are exempt from OSHA recordkeeping and reporting on OSHA forms 300, 301 and 300A. These industries however may be contacted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to participate in a mandatory survey requiring them to report injury and illness data. Partially-exempt employers are also required to report work-related employee fatalities and/or the hospitalization of three or more employees by calling 919‑779‑8560 or the toll-free 1‑800‑625‑2267 during normal working hours. After hours, call the State Capitol Police at 919‑733‑3333.
