Did you know that you can have access to current, reliable and accurate compensation survey results simply by participating in the statewide 2014 NC Wage & Salary Survey conducted by CAI?
YES, by exercising your member benefit, you can have complimentary access to full survey results, plus there is no charge to participate. Members often ask us if there is a charge to participate. As the manager of CAI’s compensation and benefits survey offerings, this surprises me. We know national survey houses and survey consultant firms may charge both a participation fee AND a report fee. For members of CAI, we can assure you that is not the case. We highly encourage and value your participation in CAI Surveys, and do not impose any charges to impede member access to our surveys.
Last year’s survey was a huge success, pulling in 521 unique organizations and experiencing a 15 percent increase in participation. This year we plan to do it again! Increasing coverage, including the diversification of the pool of participants, is critical for increasing survey value and representativeness of the local market. Plus, this year we are very pleased to announce co-sponsorship from our sister association, The Employers Association, located in Charlotte. Results will be statewide, giving a fuller market perspective. This is indeed an exciting year for the NC (formerly CAI) Wage & Salary Survey.
Did you also know that we collected insightful feedback from participant members last year regarding the jobs offered in the survey?
We asked: What could we do to make the survey even more valuable? What job families and individual jobs could be enhanced or added? Since receiving that feedback from more than 25 percent of actual participants, we have taken the necessary steps to make many job enhancements to this year’s survey. For example, check out these enhancements – new for 2014:
- We now offer more than 400 jobs in the NC Wage & Salary Survey
- Healthcare, IT and Engineering job families have been completely redesigned
- Brand new Not For Profit, Retail and Hospitality job families have been added
- More corporate and executive level jobs have been added by popular demand
- Addition of trending jobs like Social Media Rep and Business Development Manager
And of course, given last year’s success with offering one HRCI leadership credit for participation, we will be offering this fantastic incentive again! More than 15 percent of last year’s participants took advantage of this opportunity. At least one hour of your time completing the survey translates to receiving one HRCI leadership credit. There will be a place in the survey to request confirmation of credit and once received, that may be used in the HRCI re-certification process.
The 2014 NC Wage & Salary Survey is scheduled to open the week of April 27, 2014 and will close May 23, 2014. Survey results are expected to be released in early August. More details will be provided via emailed invitations to designated survey contacts next week.
