The EEO-1 report is used by the EEOC to support civil rights enforcement and analyze hiring patterns, and by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) to schedule compliance evaluations where systemic discrimination is potentially greatest based on statistical analysis of the data. Completion of the report is required by covered employers.
Covered employers are:
- Employers of 100 or more employees
- Employers with less than 100 employees who are affiliated with another company with centralized ownership where total employment is 100 employees
- Federal government prime contractors or first-tier contractors subject to Executive Order 11246 who have 50 or more employees and contracts of $50,000 or more
Employers may use any payroll reporting period from July through September of 2014 to complete the report.
Employers who are filing for the first time should register their company online at http://j.mp/ee-s. Click “click here to register” and follow the online instructions. After submitting the Registration Form, print the next screen as that gives the Login ID and Password.
The EEOC prefers that employers submit information through their web-based system. However, you may view a copy of the form and instructions at http://j.mp/ee-s.
