Many of you caught David Ulrich's opening keynote address to CAI’s HR Management Conference last month “Building  HR from the Outside In.”  Dave Ulrich made several references to the new book "The Rise of HR" in his keynote presentation.  Dr. Ulrich has now asked CAI to provide the e-book version of the book to all CAI members, free of charge!  Dave reached out to CAI to request our support in helping him and the HRCI achieve their goal of providing a free copy of this e-book to over one million HR professionals world-wide.  Our support demonstrates our continued dedication to the HR profession and of the thousands of HR professionals that work and provide HR leadership to our 1,000 + member organizations!  You can find a copy of the book attached to this article.

This remarkable and thought provoking book combines perspectives both on how HR, as an integral organization within the business, can “add value” and how HR professionals can become more effective. The 73 essays written by a cross section of HR’s top thought leaders lay out a positive and aspirational view of HR’s future, including insights on HR’s role impacting business strategy through outside-in thinking, sourcing and optimizing talent, creating winning organization capabilities and cultures, using analytics and information for improved rigor in business decision making, and defining future HR competencies.  Each essay offers ideas with impact, and collectively these ideas will shape our profession by helping HR professionals deliver additional value.

Lastly, "The Rise of HR" models how HR professionals can promote innovative ideas through collaboration.  At CAI we are providing our members with the myCAI community as the platform to drive such collaboration and learning.  We hope you enjoy this book and help leverage its teachings by raising visibility for "The Rise of HR" as a free resource with your HR colleagues and those within your HR network.
